The Condition at the Time of Death
Hazrat Amr bin Al-Aas rh used to often say in his gatherings, it is not known why those who die do not describe the condition of their last moment.
When the state of the soul leaving came upon him, his son said, father, now you yourself describe your condition.
He said, son, it feels as if my body is on a plank of fire, breath is coming through the eye of a needle, and Mount Uhud has been placed on my chest.
Allahu akbar.
May Allah Ta‘ala protect us all from the hardship of death. Ameen.
It comes in a narration that the angel of death keeps watch over people at the times of salah.
Those people who take care to pray salah on time, he himself prompts them with the kalima tayyaba at the time of their death and removes shaitan from them.
Now you all tell yourselves, who among us does not want that the angel of death should prompt us with the kalima tayyaba at the time of death?
Allahu akbar.
May Allah Ta‘ala grant us all the kalima tayyaba at the time of death.
Those people who anger Allah Ta‘ala through their evil deeds and remain immersed in disobedience to Allah Ta‘ala all their life, their death also occurs in that same state.
In their final moments, on their tongue is that very thing which is filled in their hearts.
There was an elder in Basra. He says that when a person was about to die, people began prompting him with the kalima tayyaba. But from his tongue was coming out:
A glass of wine, you drink too, make me drink too. You drink too, make me drink too. Astaghfirullah. May Allah Ta‘ala protect us all.
When a man was about to pass away, people were prompting him to recite the kalima.
But he used to do the work of selling something, he did business, and he did not care about salah.
So in response he was saying, ten ten rupees, eleven eleven rupees, twelve twelve rupees.
Astaghfirullah.
May Allah Ta‘ala grant us all the ability to pray salah in congregation and grant us the kalima tayyaba at the time of death. Ameen.
