Lessons for Every Believer
Live in this world, but do not let your heart become attached to it.
Do not worry about soaring into the skies. Instead, keep only as much connection with this world as a traveler has with a road or a temporary shelter. Do not abandon the world completely, nor become consumed by it. Live with balance and moderation.
Whoever is blessed with these three qualities attains goodness in both this world and the Hereafter:
- Being content with every decree of Allah.
- Remaining patient during hardships.
- Turning to Allah in supplication during times of ease.
These may appear simple, but each of them is an endless treasure of peace and blessings.
Whoever works for the Hereafter, Allah will take care of his worldly affairs.
Whoever purifies the heart, Allah will beautify the outward life.
Whoever corrects the relationship with Allah, Allah will improve that person's relationship with people.
Whoever truly recognizes the Creator, the creation, and the purpose of life has understood one of life's greatest realities.
O Allah, let every morning begin with my effort and Your mercy, every action with Your blessings, and every evening end with my repentance and Your acceptance.
Do not become heedless of the remembrance of Allah. Allah says that believers should not let their wealth or children distract them from His remembrance, for those who do so are the true losers.
A heart that remains engaged in the remembrance of Allah is truly alive, and the temptations of Satan cannot overpower it.
If you ever feel difficulty or restriction in your sustenance, reflect on whether you have neglected kindness toward your parents, siblings, or close relatives.
When a father is concerned only with earning money and a mother is occupied only with appearance, children are often left to be raised by television and other influences.
It is not necessary to respond to every remark. Sometimes wisdom lies in overlooking matters with patience and a broad heart. Not everyone will understand you, and you cannot explain yourself to everyone.
Bad company is more dangerous than poison, leading only to disgrace and regret. Righteous company, on the other hand, protects a person from evil.
A wise person seeks goodness and stays away from sin.
A person needs righteous companionship even more than good deeds, and avoiding corrupt company is even more important than merely avoiding sinful actions.
Allah honors the one who sincerely repents in four ways:
- He cleanses the person of sins as though they had never sinned.
- He loves that servant.
- He protects that servant from Satan.
- He grants peace and reassurance at the time of death.
When a servant sincerely repents, Allah accepts that repentance and erases its effects, leaving no witness against the servant. Satan swore that he would continue to tempt humanity as long as they lived, but Allah declared that He would continue accepting the repentance of His servants for as long as they turned back to Him sincerely.
