Bring Complete Islam Into Life Through Sunnah, Taqwa And Dawah
A Muslim cannot be distinguished from non-Muslims without giving importance to the Sunnah, and without taqwa a Muslim cannot truly stand apart from others.
As long as Muslims do not become distinct by following the Sunnah, the help and decision of Allah will not come, because today the Muslim Ummah is facing hardship.
(may Allah have mercy on him) used to say that people complain, "What should we do? We are being oppressed and cut down."
He would explain this with an example. A piece of wood asked the iron saw, "How did you cut me into two pieces?" The saw replied, "I could never have cut you until a part of you came and joined me. The wooden handle attached to me made it possible."
This is a lesson worthy of reflection. If the iron saw had no wooden handle, it would have been difficult to cut the wood because the hand of the one holding the saw would have been injured first.
Likewise, when Muslims abandon their own Islamic way of life and adopt the ways of non-Muslims, mixing themselves with their customs and practices, their protection, unity, and strength are weakened. Others gain dominance because a part of the Muslims has become attached to them.
A Muslim will regain distinction only when he completely frees himself from non-Islamic ways in his dealings, social life, manners, and every aspect of life.
Complete Islam enters our lives through dawah.
We can bring complete Islam into our lives through the work of dawah, following the same efforts that were made by the noble companions of the Prophet ï·º.
As long as the call towards Allah remains alive within the Ummah, the religion will remain alive. This is the truth. When dawah disappears, the religion gradually disappears from people's lives. The Prophets came with dawah, and through dawah the religion spread.
In this age, if dawah towards Allah is neglected, the Ummah cannot emerge from the losses and difficulties it is experiencing.
The Qur'an teaches that righteous deeds alone are not sufficient for salvation unless they are accompanied by encouraging one another towards truth and patience.
Faith and righteous deeds are among the means of salvation, but they cannot reach their complete purpose without mutual encouragement towards truth and steadfast patience.
The level of faith and righteous actions desired by Allah is strengthened and developed through the work of dawah.
The more widespread dawah becomes within the Ummah, the more religious awareness and righteous action will spread among the people.
Dawah increases the means of guidance, just as abandoning dawah increases the causes of misguidance.
The abandonment of dawah is a cause of the Ummah's deviation, while the existence of dawah is a cause of its guidance.
Any action performed for one's own spiritual benefit is an individual obligation, whereas actions performed solely on behalf of others may be a communal obligation.
Warning people about the punishment of Allah primarily benefits the one who gives the warning. Even if others do not accept it, the caller will never be deprived of its benefit. Dawah always benefits the one who conveys it.
Faith is an individual obligation. Prayer is an individual obligation. Remembering Allah is an individual obligation. Seeking knowledge is an individual obligation. Fulfilling people's rights is an individual obligation. Learning sincerity is an individual obligation.
If developing these qualities within ourselves is individually obligatory, then striving to develop them within ourselves is also an individual obligation.
The misunderstanding arose because commanding good and forbidding evil came to be viewed only as something done for the benefit of others.
(may Allah have mercy on him) wrote in his sayings that whenever he wanted to remove an evil from himself, he would forbid others from it, and whenever he wished to cultivate a good quality within himself, he would encourage others towards it.
Bring complete Islam into your life. Complete Islam comes through the complete effort of dawah.
Inviting others towards a righteous deed as an action is one thing, but inviting them with complete conviction is another.
The one who invites others with sincere conviction will continue to improve in his own practice, even if others do not respond.
Allah has given us such a noble effort that even if others do not accept the message, He will never deprive the one who sincerely strives in His path of reward.
Until this effort is made for one's own reformation, steadfastness upon it will not be achieved.
Dawah benefits the caller even if people reject the message. On the Day of Judgment, even those Prophets whose people accepted none of their message will still be completely successful because they fulfilled the responsibility entrusted to them by Allah.
It will never be said that they failed in their mission.
The practice of commanding good and forbidding evil declined within the Ummah because many people began to see it only as a means of reforming others.
Forbidding evil first benefits the one who forbids it, while encouraging good develops within the caller the ability and desire to practice goodness himself.
If this effort is carried out only for changing others, it often leads to disappointment or anger when people refuse to listen.
(may Allah have mercy on him) also said:
"Whenever I wanted to develop a good quality within myself, I invited others towards it. Whenever I wished to remove an evil from myself, I warned others against it."
Forbidding evil creates within the caller a hatred for sin and strengthens his ability to stay away from it. Likewise, encouraging people towards righteousness nurtures those same righteous qualities within the one who calls others to them.
