Millions of people around the world struggle to obtain adequate clothing, making gratitude for this blessing especially important.

Islam encourages believers to dress well within reasonable limits. The Prophet ﷺ did not promote negligence in appearance. Rather, he encouraged cleanliness, grooming, and presentability. Allah is beautiful and loves beauty, provided that beauty is not accompanied by arrogance, extravagance, or vanity.

At the same time, Islam does not restrict believers to one color. The Prophet ﷺ wore various colors throughout his life. The important consideration is that clothing remains modest, clean, and appropriate.

Special attention should be given to clothing during acts of worship. When attending prayer, especially congregational prayer, Muslims are encouraged to wear clean and respectable garments. Standing before Allah is a great honor, and outward preparation reflects inward respect.

Parents have an important role in teaching children proper clothing etiquette. In an age where fashion trends change rapidly and modesty is often neglected, children need guidance rooted in Islamic values. Teaching modesty from a young age helps establish lifelong habits.

The relationship between clothing and character is significant. Although clothing alone does not determine a person's righteousness, the way individuals dress often reflects their priorities and values. Modest attire encourages humility, self-respect, and mindfulness of Allah.
