What to Do on Eid-ul-Adha – Sunnah Acts, Qurbani Guidelines, and Best Deeds for a Blessed Eid
Eid-ul-Adha is one of the most important and blessed days in Islam. It reminds us of the great sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) and his unmatched obedience to Allah Ta’ala. This Eid is not just a celebration, but a message of trial, worship, and sacrifice.
On this blessed day, Muslims perform the sacrifice of animals for the sake of Allah, share happiness with family and the poor, and strengthen their faith.
In this post, we will discuss in detail what Muslims should do on Eid-ul-Adha, so we can make the most of this day and earn the pleasure of Allah.
1. Performing Ghusl and Maintaining Cleanliness
On the morning of Eid-ul-Adha, performing ghusl (ritual bath) is a Sunnah. It helps a person become clean and ready for the Eid prayer and worship of Allah.
Wearing clean and good clothes is also Sunnah. Using perfume, brushing teeth (miswak), and maintaining personal hygiene are all part of Islamic teachings.
2. Reciting Takbeer-e-Tashreeq
On Eid-ul-Adha and the days of Tashreeq (9th to 13th Dhul Hijjah), reciting takbeer is highly virtuous.
“Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illallahu wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar wa lillahil hamd”
This declaration expresses the greatness of Allah and gratitude to Him. Every Muslim should recite it with sincerity.
3. Performing Eid Prayer
The most important act of Eid-ul-Adha is the Eid prayer. Muslims should gather in Eidgah or mosque and perform the prayer in congregation.
Eid prayer is a social and spiritual worship that brings Muslims together and strengthens love and unity among them.
After the prayer, listening to the khutbah (sermon) is also important as it contains guidance and reminders.
4. Performing Qurbani (The Most Important Act)
The true essence of Eid-ul-Adha is Qurbani (sacrifice). Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) was ready to sacrifice his son Prophet Ismail (A.S) for the sake of Allah’s command, and Allah accepted his obedience and replaced it with a ram.
The purpose of Qurbani is not just meat, but to seek the pleasure of Allah and sacrifice one’s ego and desires.
During Qurbani, the following points should be kept in mind:
- The animal must be halal and healthy
- The sacrifice should be only for Allah
- Avoid showing off (riya)
- The meat should be divided into three parts (family, relatives, and poor)
5. Charity and Helping the Poor
On Eid-ul-Adha, besides Qurbani, helping the poor, orphans, and needy people is highly important.
Many people cannot celebrate Eid properly. Delivering meat, food, and support to them is a great act of reward.
Islam teaches us to think beyond ourselves and care for the entire community.
6. Meeting Relatives and Strengthening Relationships
On Eid, we should visit relatives, friends, and neighbors. Greeting each other, embracing, and forgiving past misunderstandings is the true spirit of Eid.
Maintaining family ties (sila rehmi) is highly emphasized in Islam, and Eid is the best opportunity to strengthen it.
7. Celebrating with Gratitude
Celebrating Eid-ul-Adha is allowed, but it should always be accompanied by gratitude to Allah.
Avoid wastefulness and always connect happiness with the remembrance of Allah.
8. Distribution of Qurbani Meat
The meat of Qurbani is traditionally divided into three parts:
- One part for the family
- One part for relatives and friends
- One part for the poor and needy
This promotes equality and love in society.
9. Teaching Children About Eid
Eid-ul-Adha is a great opportunity to teach children Islamic values. Telling them the story of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) helps develop faith and the spirit of sacrifice.
Giving Eidi (gifts) and making children happy is also a beautiful Sunnah practice.
10. Avoiding Sins and Turning Towards Allah
Even on Eid, Muslims should avoid sins such as lying, backbiting, and immoral actions.
Instead, increase worship, supplication, and remembrance of Allah on this blessed day.
Conclusion
Eid-ul-Adha is not just a festival, but a powerful message of worship and sacrifice. It teaches us obedience like Prophet Ibrahim (A.S), patience like Prophet Ismail (A.S), and devotion to Allah’s command.
If we follow this day according to Sunnah, it strengthens our faith and brings blessings into our lives.
May Allah grant us all the understanding of the true spirit of Eid-ul-Adha and help us act upon it. Ameen.
Eid-ul-Adha Islam ka ek azeem aur barkat wala din hai jo Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) ki azeem qurbani aur Allah Ta’ala ki raza ke liye unki be-misaal ita’at ki yaad dilaata hai. Yeh Eid sirf ek jashn nahi balki ek imtehan, ibadat aur sacrifice ka paigham hai.
Is mubarak din par Musalman Allah ki raza ke liye janwar ki qurbani karte hain, apne ghar walon aur gareebon ke sath khushi baantte hain aur apne iman ko mazboot karte hain.
Is post me hum detail se samjhenge ke Eid-ul-Adha ke din kya kya kaam karne chahiye, taake hum is din ka sahi faida utha saken aur Allah ki khushi hasil kar saken.
1. Ghusl karna aur safai ka khayal rakhna
Eid-ul-Adha ke din subah uth kar ghusl karna sunnat hai.
Achay aur saaf kapde pehnna bhi sunnat hai. Khushboo lagana, miswak karna aur apni zahiri safai ka khayal rakhna bhi Islam ki taleemat ka hissa hai.
2. Takbeerat-e-Tashreeq parhna
Eid-ul-Adha ke din aur Ayyam-e-Tashreeq (9 se 13 Zulhijjah) tak takbeerat parhna bohot fazilat rakhta hai.
“Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illallahu wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar wa lillahil hamd”
Yeh takbeerat Allah ki azmat aur shukar ka izhar hota hai jo har musalman ko dil se parhna chahiye.
Eid ki namaz ek social aur roohani ibadat hai jo musalmano ko ek saath jodti hai aur unke dilon me mohabbat paida karti hai.
Namaz ke baad khutba sunna bhi zaroori hota hai jo hidayat aur naseehat par mabni hota hai.
4. Qurbani karna (Sab se aham amal)
Eid-ul-Adha ki asal rooh qurbani hai. Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) ne Allah ke hukam par apne betay Hazrat Ismail (A.S) ko qurbani karne ka irada kiya, aur Allah ne unki is ita’at ko qabool farmaya aur janwar ki qurbani ko ummat-e-Muhammadi ke liye jari kar diya.
Qurbani ka maqsad sirf gosht lena nahi, balke Allah ki raza hasil karna aur apne nafs ki qurbani dena hai.
Qurbani ke waqt in baton ka khayal rakhna chahiye:
- Janwar halal aur sehatmand ho
- Qurbani sirf Allah ke naam par ho
- Dikhawa ya riya se bacha jaye
- Qurbani ka gosht teen hisson me taqseem kiya jaye (ghar, rishtedar, aur ghareeb)
Un tak gosht, khana aur madad pohanchana bohot bada sawab hai.
Islam hume sirf apne liye nahi balki poori ummat ke liye sochne ka dars deta hai.
Salam dua karna, galay milna aur purani narazgiyan khatam karna Eid ki asal rooh hai.
Sila rehmi Islam me bohot aham hai aur Eid is amal ko mazboot karne ka behtareen mauqa hai.
7. Khushi ka izhar magar shukar ke sath
Eid-ul-Adha par khushi manana jaiz hai, lekin har khushi ke sath Allah ka shukar zaroor ada karna chahiye.
Zyada israaf se bachna chahiye aur apni khushi ko Allah ki raza ke sath jorna chahiye.
8. Qurbani ke gosht ki taqseem
Qurbani ka gosht teen hisso me baantna sunnat hai:
- Ek hissa apne ghar ke liye
- Ek hissa rishtedaron aur doston ke liye
- Ek hissa gareeb aur zaruratmand logon ke liye
Is se society me mohabbat aur equality barhti hai.
Unko Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) ki qurbani ka qissa sunana chahiye taake un me iman aur sacrifice ka jazba paida ho.
Bachon ko Eidi dena aur unko khush karna bhi sunnat aur achi aadat hai.
Nateeja
Eid-ul-Adha sirf ek festival nahi balki ek azeem ibadat aur sacrifice ka paigham hai. Yeh din hume Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) ki ita’at, Hazrat Ismail (A.S) ki sabr aur Allah ki raza ke liye sab kuch qurban karne ka dars deta hai.
Agar hum is din ko sunnat ke mutabiq guzaren, to yeh hamare iman ko mazboot karta hai aur hamari zindagi me barkat lata hai.
Allah hum sab ko Eid-ul-Adha ki asal rooh samajhne aur us par amal karne ki taufeeq ata farmaye. Ameen.
