Virtues of shahadatBest way and most noble death
Huzur akram sallallahu alaihivasallam, after hamd and sana, said, indeed the truest speech is allah’s book, the strongest handle is taqwa, the best millat is hazrat ibrahim alaihissalam’s millat, the best way is muhammad sallallahu alaihivasallam’s way, the most noble speech is allah’s zikr, the best story is quran, among all deeds the best is that which is done with firm resolve, and the worst deeds are those newly invented, the best conduct is ambiya alaihissalam’s conduct, the most noble death is shahadat and being killed.
In this hadith it was said that a shaheed’s being killed is the most noble death. Noble means most honorable, most worthy of greatness. In qurane kareem hazraate shuhada’s rank is mentioned as third, as stated, and whoever obeys allah and rasulullah, then these people will be with prophets and with siddiqeen and with shuhada and with righteous of high rank, and very excellent are these companions to be with. Can anyone get better companions than these.
*Rank of shahadat death*
Qurane kareem mentioned first rank of allah’s prophets, second of siddiqeen, third of shuhada, fourth of saleheen meaning righteous of high rank whom we call awliya allah. We sinful muslims who obey allah ta'ala and his rasool huzur akram sallallahu alaihivasallam and keep trying to obey, allah ta'ala gives such people good news that on day of qayamat their gathering will be with prophets, siddiqeen, shuhada and saleheen, and they are very good companions. This is allah ta'ala’s favor which allah ta'ala grants to whom he wills. May allah ta'ala grant it to all of us, ameen ya rabbul alameen.
*Desire for shahadat*
Huzur sallallahu alaihivasallam, allah ta'ala granted him nabuwat and shuhada are dust of his shoes. Aap sallallahu alaihivasallam are leader of all ambiya alaihissalam. Despite this, aap sallallahu alaihivasallam used to say, my heart desires that i be killed in allah’s path, then be given life, then be killed, then be given life, then be killed, then be given life, this chain should continue.
*Shaheed are alive*
In qurane kareem it is stated, and do not call those who are killed in allah’s path dead, rather they are alive, but you do not perceive their life.
And at another place it is stated, rather they are alive and with their lord they are given sustenance.
In hadith from sahi bukhari in mishkat, there are lanterns hanging with allah ta'ala’s great arsh and they are the abode of shuhada. That is the dwelling place of shuhada, and allah ta'ala grants them mounts in form of green birds, and their souls fly in these green birds inside jannat and eat and drink wherever they wish.
This is the matter before qayamat. What will happen with them on day of qayamat, only allah ta'ala knows. Subhanallah.
*Hazrat umar raziyallahu anhu’s dua for shahadat*
Hazrat umar raziyallahu anhu used to pray, o allah grant me death of shahadat and grant me death in your rasool sallallahu alaihivasallam’s city. Then he would say, how can two things gather for umar, you ask for shahadat death and also ask in rasulullah sallallahu alaihivasallam’s city. Jihaad happens outside, how will shahadat be attained sitting in madina. He would ask himself and himself answer, if allah rabbul izzat wills, he can combine both. And in reality allah combined both and showed, and accepted hazrat umar raziyallahu anhu’s dua.
*Wazifa for attaining shahadat*
It comes in hadith sharif, whoever reads this dua 25 times daily, allahumma baarikli fil mauti wa feeima ba'adal maut, o allah, grant me blessing in death and blessing in what happens after death. Hazrat ayesha raziyallahi anha asked huzur e sallallahu alaihivasallam, can a person be with shaheeds without shahadat. Huzur e sallallahu alaihivasallam said, the person who remembers death 20 times day and night can be. In one hadith it is that whoever reads 25 times allahumma barikli fil mauti wa fima ba'adal maut, he can be in rank of shahadat.
