MUSIC IS A CAUSE OF PUNISHMENT AND CALAMITIES
The pure statement of the Noble Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam is: These calamities will come upon this Ummah: being swallowed by the earth, transformation of faces, and rain of stones.
A Sahabi Rd asked: "O Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam, when will this happen?"
He Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: When singing women and musical instruments become widespread, and drinking of wine occurs.

*SINGING AND MUSIC IS FOOLISHNESS AND IMMORALITY*
Hazrat Jabir Rd narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam went out with Hazrat Abdurrahman bin Auf Rd. His son Ibrahim was in the struggle between death and life.
Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam held the son in his lap and tears began to flow from his eyes. Hazrat Abdurrahman bin Auf Rd said:
"You Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam forbid weeping, yet you yourself are weeping."
He Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: I do not forbid weeping. Rather I forbid two foolish and immoral types of voices.
One is the voice uttered at the time of the flutes of Shaitan and musical instruments and songs.
And the second is the voice of wailing with slapping the face and tearing the collar at the time of calamity.

*THOSE WHO CONSIDER MUSIC HALAL WILL BECOME SWINE*
In Sahih Hadith, the statement of the Noble Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam is: There will come some people in my Ummah who will make zina, silk, wine, singing and music, and musical instruments halal.
And a group will camp at the side of a mountain. Their livestock will return in the evening after grazing.
A needy and destitute person will come to them. They will say to him: "Come tomorrow."
Allah Ta'ala will destroy them during the night itself and bring the mountain down upon them.
And He will transform others into monkeys and swine until Qiyamah.
*MUSIC IS A CAUSE OF DISTANCE FROM THE MERCY OF ALLAH*
Hazrat Abu Hurairah Raziallahu Ta'ala Anhu narrated that the Noble Messenger Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said:
"The bell is the flute of Shaitan."
Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 2114
In the commentary of Sahih Muslim, Imam Nawawi Rahmatullahi Alayh writes: Regarding the bell, it is said that the reason for the angels' aversion to it is that it resembles the naqoos.
Or it is among those hanging things that are prohibited. The reason is the dislike of the sound. And the narration "flutes of Shaitan" supports this.
Shaikh Ibn Uthaymeen Rahmatullahi Alayh said: The Noble Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam informed that angels do not accompany a caravan in which there is a bell.
Because the movement and shaking of animals produces music and evil. And it is known that musical instruments are haram.

*PUTTING MUSIC TONES IN MOBILE IS EVIL AND HARAM*
Shaikh Muhammad Saalih writes: To avoid these tones, the simple ordinary phone ring is sufficient.
Or put some other tone with natural sound in which there is no music.
The Permanent Fatwa Committee was asked about the ruling on music tones in mobile phones. The committee's answer was:
"Using music tones in telephones and other devices is not permissible. Because listening to musical instruments is haram, as proven by Shari'ah evidences.
Instead of it, ordinary simple ring and tones can be used."
A person asked that he has set a tone of Quranic verses in his phone. The answer given was: "The best and better is not to do so.
Because there is concern that doing this is disrespect to the Quran Majeed. Certainly Allah Ta'ala revealed the Quran so that this Book becomes a Book of guidance.
That it guides this nation to the better and best path. This Book should be read and recited with tarteel.
Its meanings should be pondered upon and it should be acted upon. Not that it be used as an alarm or ringtone."
It is sufficient for us to keep our mobile phone on an ordinary, simple tone in which there is no music.
