Atheism and Islam

ATHESIM AND ISLAM

Atheism and Islam are two fundamentally different worldviews. Atheism rejects the existence of a Creator, while Islam is built upon belief in one God, Allah. This difference affects how people understand life, purpose, morality, and what happens after death.

Atheism is a worldview that denies the existence of Allah Almighty, whereas Islam is founded upon belief in the Oneness of Allah and faith in Him.

A Muslim firmly believes that this universe has a Creator who created the heavens, the earth, and all creation. Every system, every creature, and every sign bears witness to the power of Allah.

Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran:

"Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators?" (Surah At-Tur 52:35)

Dear friends, Atheism claims that life and the universe came into existence without a Creator, while Islam teaches that everything has a creator. If even a small building cannot be constructed without a builder, then how can this magnificent universe exist without a Creator?

Today, many people around the world are turning toward Atheism, but a Muslim's faith is based on the Quran and the Sunnah.

Atheism says that there is no God, there is no life after death, and the universe came into existence by itself.

Islam teaches that Allah is One and He alone is the Creator of all things, that there will be accountability, reward, and punishment after death, and that the universe was created by the power of Allah.

Allah Almighty says in the Quran:

"Does man think that he will be left neglected?"

If there were no accountability after death, then how would the oppressed receive justice and the oppressor receive punishment? Islam teaches that on the Day of Judgment every person will be held accountable for his or her deeds.

Allah Almighty also says:

"Whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it." (Surah Az-Zalzalah)

And in a Hadith, it is narrated:

"The world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the disbeliever." (Sahih Muslim)

My brothers and sisters, Atheism distances a person from the Creator, while Islam connects a person to Allah, explains the purpose of life, and shows the path to success in the Hereafter.

Once, a man asked:

"If Allah exists, why can I not see Him?"

The reply was:

"Can you see your intellect? Can you see your soul? Can you see the wind? No. Yet you believe in their existence because you can observe their effects."

Likewise, Allah Almighty cannot be seen with our eyes in this world, but the signs of His power are present everywhere.

Allah Almighty says in the Quran:

"We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that this Quran is the truth." (Surah Fussilat 41:53)

The sun rises at its appointed time every day. The moon follows its precise course. Human beings are created from a tiny drop. The earth comes back to life with rain after it was barren and lifeless.

Can all of this exist without a Creator?

Can all of this happen on its own?

Even the smallest thing in this world cannot operate by itself. It cannot create itself. There is always someone or something behind it.

Then what about this vast world, the sun, the moon, and the stars? Did they create themselves? And do they continue to function on their own?

Allah Almighty says in the Quran:

"Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth are signs for people of understanding."

Atheism creates doubt, whereas Islam provides certainty. Atheism makes the purpose of life unclear, while Islam teaches that we were created to worship Allah and seek His pleasure.

May Allah Almighty keep us firm upon the truth, strengthen our faith, and protect us from all doubts and misconceptions.

Ameen, O Lord of the Worlds.
