The Beauty of Character and the Value of TimE
Humility is to accept the truth, no matter who says it. Instead of trying to force someone to understand something, it is better to pray two Rak‘ahs and make dua for their guidance. Life without good character is nothing but misbehavior. We dislike hatred, but we also dislike fake love. It is said that love used to be blind, but nowadays it often looks in one direction while aiming at another.
People often say that those who speak bluntly have pure hearts, but what benefit is there in such purity if it wounds the hearts of others? Some burdens should be carried silently, and one should learn to overlook the faults of others. Even with eyes, you cannot guide someone who pretends to be blind. Remember, those who wish no harm for others are protected by the promise of Allah, Lord of Honor. The relationships Allah created for peace are often filled with deception and trickery, and then people wonder why they have no peace in life.
Worship is for Allah, and service is for His creation. Though both are for Allah, service never goes to waste. The standard of worship is so high that no one can fulfill it perfectly, and even great acts of worship may be deficient. But serving others, no matter how small the act, is never rejected. When Allah grants His love to someone, they desire nothing else; but when He gives someone the world, that desire often becomes a hunger that never ends.
A beautiful face is a gift from Allah and not a personal achievement. Beauty can be given without effort. But the truly beautiful person is the one whose heart is pure, whose thoughts are noble, and whose character is upright. A beautiful heart is worth more than a thousand beautiful faces. Therefore, choose people whose hearts are more beautiful than their appearance.
The real aim in life should be to win hearts. Even Alexander conquered the world yet left it empty-handed. Giving something without expecting anything in return is a sign of the beauty of your heart. People may not notice it, but Allah records every act. When people need you, even your flaws appear as virtues; when they no longer need you, even your virtues may become a joke. Such is the nature of this world: where there is benefit, people gather; when the benefit ends, many relationships end as well.
Love means feeling protective concern for the one you love. The reality of love is that when you truly love someone, you are willing to give of yourself without selfishness. Love is called love because it removes everything from the heart except the beloved. Whoever claims love but does not respect its limits and responsibilities is not truthful in that claim.
Only those who truly understand value can appreciate the worth of time. Those who possess pure thoughts, sound beliefs, and noble ideas hold time in the highest regard. In their eyes, time is among the greatest treasures.
People say that time is life. Reflect for a moment: what is your life in this world except a short and uncertain journey between birth and death? Human intellect often fails to fully understand the reality of time and its difference from worldly wealth.
Gold comes and goes. It can be lost and regained, sometimes in greater amounts than before. But time, once it passes, never returns. No wealth, power, or effort can bring back a single lost moment.
Think carefully and fairly: is time not more valuable than gold? Is it not more precious than all worldly treasures? Every jewel and treasure in the world is insignificant when compared to time, because time is not merely wealth—it is life itself, and life is priceless.
