What Is Our Responsibility Towards Gaza Today?

Voices of Gaza

Dear brothers and sisters,

The suffering of our brothers and sisters in Gaza is not something that should leave our hearts unmoved. Every day, families face hardship, children struggle without basic necessities, and many people are in desperate need of food, water, medicine, and shelter.

As Muslims, we are taught that we are one Ummah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

"The example of the believers in their love, mercy, and compassion for one another is like a single body. If one part of the body suffers, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)

When we hear about the pain of Gaza, we should ask ourselves: What can I do to help?

Not everyone can travel to assist, and not everyone has great wealth. But every Muslim can contribute according to their ability. Allah does not ask from us what is beyond our capacity. What He asks is sincerity and effort.

One of our greatest responsibilities is to make sincere du'a for the people of Gaza. Never underestimate the power of du'a. The doors of Allah's mercy are always open, and a heartfelt prayer may bring relief in ways we cannot imagine.

Another important responsibility is financial support. If there are trustworthy ways to help provide food, medicine, clean water, or emergency aid, then we should not delay. Even a small amount given sincerely can become a means of easing someone's suffering.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to others." (Tabarani)

Many of us spend money every day on things that are not essential. Yet there are families who do not know where their next meal will come from. A small sacrifice from our comfort can become a source of hope for someone in need.

We should also remember that charity is not measured only by its amount but by the sincerity behind it. A donation that seems small to us may be enormous in the sight of Allah.

At the same time, we should continue to raise awareness in a truthful and responsible manner. Sharing authentic information, encouraging others to help, and reminding people of their duties towards those in need are all forms of support.

However, our concern for Gaza should not be limited to words on social media. True concern is shown through action. If we feel sadness for their suffering, that sadness should motivate us to help in whatever way we can.

Brothers and sisters,

The children of Gaza are not strangers to us. They are part of our Ummah. The elderly, the widows, the injured, and the displaced are all people for whom we should care. Their hardships should remind us of the countless blessings that Allah has given us.

Today, if Allah has blessed us with food, safety, health, and a roof over our heads, then we should thank Him by helping those who have been deprived of these blessings.

Let us not think that our contribution is too small to matter. A single meal can feed a hungry person. A small donation can help purchase medicine. A sincere du'a can reach the heavens.

May Allah have mercy on the people of Gaza, protect the innocent, heal the wounded, provide for the needy, and grant patience to those who have lost loved ones. May He accept every sincere effort made to help them and make us among those who support others for His sake alone.

Ameen. 🤲🏻

"Whoever relieves a believer of a hardship from the hardships of this world, Allah will relieve him of a hardship from the hardships of the Day of Resurrection."
(Sahih Muslim)

ROMAN URDU TRANSLATION

Is Waqt Gaza Ke Liye Hamari Kya Zimmedari Hai?

Pyare bhaiyo aur behno,

Gaza mein hamare bhai behnon aur bachon par jo mushkil waqt guzar raha hai, woh har sahib-e-iman ke dil ko ghamgeen kar dene ke liye kaafi hai. Har roz aisi khabrein samne aati hain jin mein bhook, pyaas, beemari, beghar hone aur mushkil zindagi ka zikr hota hai. Aise halaat mein ek Musalman ke taur par hamein apni zimmedari ko samajhna chahiye.

Rasulullah ﷺ ne farmaya:

"Momin apas mein muhabbat, rahmat aur shafqat mein ek jism ki tarah hain. Jab jism ka ek hissa takleef mein hota hai to sara jism bechaini aur bukhar mein mubtala ho jata hai." (Bukhari, Muslim)

Jab hum Gaza ke mazloom Musalmanon ka haal sunte hain to hamein yeh sochna chahiye ke hum unke liye kya kar sakte hain. Har shakhs ke paas ek jaisi taqat ya wasail nahi hote, lekin har shakhs kisi na kisi had tak madad zaroor kar sakta hai.

Sab se pehli zimmedari yeh hai ke hum unke liye dil se dua karein. Dua momin ka hathiyar hai. Allah Ta'ala har cheez par Qadir hai aur uski rehmat ke darwaze kabhi band nahi hote. Ho sakta hai hamari ek sachchi dua kisi museebat zada gharane ke liye rahat ka sabab ban jaye.

Doosri aham zimmedari mali madad hai. Agar Allah ne hamein maal diya hai to hamein apne bhai behnon ki madad mein kanjoosi nahi karni chahiye. Chahe raqam chhoti hi kyun na ho, Allah ke nazdeek ikhlas ke saath diya gaya sadqa bahut qeemati hota hai.

Nabi Kareem ﷺ ne farmaya:

"Allah ke nazdeek sab se zyada mahboob log woh hain jo logon ko sab se zyada faida pohanchate hain." (Tabarani)

Aaj Gaza mein bahut se bachay bhooke hain, mareez dawa ke muntazir hain aur bahut se gharane bunyadi zarooriyat se mehroom hain. Agar hum apni zarooraton se thoda sa hissa nikal kar un tak pohanchayen to yeh Allah ke nazdeek azeem ajar ka sabab ban sakta hai.

Hamein yeh bhi yaad rakhna chahiye ke sadqa sirf badi raqam ka naam nahi. Kabhi kabhi chhoti si madad bhi kisi ki zindagi mein badi aasani paida kar deti hai. Allah niyyat aur ikhlas ko dekhta hai.

Hamari teesri zimmedari yeh hai ke hum logon ko bhi khair ki taraf bulayen. Agar koi mo'tabar aur bharosemand tareeqe se madad jama kar raha ho to doosron ko bhi is nek kaam mein shareek karein. Shayad aap ki ek baat kisi aur ko sadqa dene par amada kar de aur us ka sawab aap ko bhi milta rahe.

Lekin sirf baatein karna kaafi nahi. Agar hamare dil waqai Gaza ke liye dukh mehsoos karte hain to us dukh ka asar hamare a'maal mein nazar aana chahiye. Sachi hamdardi woh hai jo amal ki shakal ikhtiyar kare.

Pyare bhaiyo aur behno,

Gaza ke bachay hamare apne bachon ki tarah hain. Wahan ki maayein aur buzurg hamare apne ghar walon ki tarah hain. Unki takleef hamein apni zimmedari ka ehsaas dilani chahiye.

Aaj agar Allah ne hamein aman, sehat, khana aur ghar ki ne'mat di hai to hamein us ka shukr ada karte hue zarooratmand logon ki madad karni chahiye. Yeh waqt tamasha dekhne ka nahi, balke apni haisiyat ke mutabiq madad karne ka hai.

Kabhi yeh mat sochiye ke meri madad bahut chhoti hai. Ho sakta hai aap ka diya hua sadqa kisi bhooke bachay ke liye khane ka intezam kar de. Ho sakta hai aap ki madad kisi mareez ki dawa ka sabab ban jaye. Ho sakta hai aap ki dua Allah ke hukm se kisi museebat ko door kar de.

Aaiye ahad karein ke hum Gaza ke liye dua bhi karenge, apne maal se madad bhi karenge aur doosron ko bhi khair aur madad ki taraf bulayenge. Allah Ta'ala hamari chhoti se chhoti koshish ko qabool farmaye aur use mazloomon ke liye rahat ka zariya bana de.

Allah Ta'ala Gaza ke mazloom Musalmanon ki hifazat farmaye, bhookon ko rizq ata farmaye, mareezon ko shifa de, shaheedon ki maghfirat farmaye aur hamein unki madad karne ki taufeeq ata farmaye.

Aameen Ya Rabbal Aalameen.
