ENGLISH TRANSLATION
Hazrat Luqman (peace be upon him) said to his son:
“If you want to befriend someone, first make him angry. If in a state of anger he still deals with you fairly and truthfully, then he is a true friend; otherwise, do not befriend him.”
⚄ → Befriend the person because of whom you do not fall into trouble, whose temperament and habits do not conflict with yours, and who does not embarrass you in reality or in gatherings.

URDU TRANSLATION
حضرت لقمان علیہ السلام نے اپنے بیٹے سے فرمایا:
"اگر کسی شخص سے دوستی کرنا چاہو تو پہلے اسے غصہ دلاؤ۔ اگر وہ غصے کی حالت میں بھی تمہارے ساتھ انصاف اور سچائی کا معاملہ کرے تو وہ سچا دوست ہے، ورنہ اس سے دوستی نہ کرو۔"
⚄ → دوستی ایسے شخص سے کرو جس کی وجہ سے تم کسی مصیبت میں نہ پڑو، جس کے مزاج اور عادات تمہارے مزاج سے نہ ٹکرائیں، اور جو حقیقت میں یا محفل میں تمہیں شرمندہ نہ کرے۔

علم مال سے بہتر ہے کیونکہ:
⚄ → مال کی حفاظت تمہیں کرنی پڑتی ہے، جبکہ علم تمہاری حفاظت کرتا ہے۔
⚄ → مال کو ہمیشہ چوری کا خطرہ رہتا ہے، لیکن علم کو نہیں۔
ARABIC TRANSLATION
قال لقمان عليه السلام لابنه:
"إذا أردت أن تُصادق أحداً فاغضبه أولاً، فإن عاملَك بالعدل والصدق وهو غضبان فهو الصديق الحق، وإلا فلا تُصادقه."
⚄ → صادِق ذلك الرجل الذي لا يوقعك في مصيبة، والذي لا يختلف طبعه وعاداته عن طبعك وعاداتك، والذي لا يُحرجك في الحقيقة ولا في المجالس.

وقال علقمة بن لبيد رحمه الله لابنه:
"إذا اشتهى قلبك يوماً وشعرتَ بالحاجة إلى صديق…"

⚄ → الأغنياء ليس كل الناس محتاجين إليهم، أما صاحب العلم فكل إنسان محتاج إليه.
⚄ → طلب العلم والبحث عنه خير من صلاة النافلة.
