Quran Lessons for My SonA Father's Advice and a Lifelong Trust
In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful
My dear son,
Among all the gifts that a parent can leave behind, there is no gift greater than the gift of faith, good character, and a connection with the Noble Qur’an. Wealth may disappear, beauty may fade, and worldly achievements may be forgotten, but the light of the Qur’an remains with a believer throughout life and even after death.
As your father, I wish many good things for you. I wish for your success, your happiness, your health, and your safety. But above all these wishes, I pray that Allah makes you among the people of the Qur’an, because the people of the Qur’an are the special servants of Allah.
The Qur’an is not merely a book to be placed on a shelf. It is the speech of Allah, revealed as guidance for mankind. It teaches us how to worship Allah, how to treat our parents, how to deal with people, how to face hardships, and how to live a life that pleases our Creator.
My son, whenever you open the Qur’an, remember that you are opening a message from Allah. Read it with respect, humility, and sincerity. Do not rush through its verses. Reflect upon them and ask yourself what Allah wants you to learn from them.
Allah says in the Qur’an:
"This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah." (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:2)
This means that the Qur’an is a guide for every part of life. When you are confused, it guides you. When you are sad, it comforts you. When you are afraid, it gives you courage. When you make mistakes, it shows you the path of repentance.
My dear son,
One of the first lessons I want you to learn from the Qur’an is that Allah is always with you. People may leave you. Friends may disappoint you. Circumstances may change. But Allah never abandons His servants.
Whenever you feel lonely, turn to Allah. Raise your hands in dua and speak to Him. Tell Him your worries, your hopes, your dreams, and your fears. He hears every whisper and knows every secret hidden within your heart.
The second lesson is sincerity. Do everything for the sake of Allah. Pray for Allah. Learn for Allah. Help others for Allah. If your intention is sincere, even small deeds become great in the sight of Allah.
The third lesson is respect for parents. Allah has repeatedly commanded kindness towards parents in the Qur’an. Never forget the sacrifices your parents make for you. Your mother carried you, cared for you, and endured hardships for your sake. Your father worked and struggled to provide for you.
Allah says:
"And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to parents." (Surah Al-Isra 17:23)
My son, always speak gently to your parents. Never raise your voice against them. Even if you disagree with them, remain respectful and humble.
The fourth lesson is truthfulness. Always speak the truth, even when it is difficult. A believer is recognized by honesty. Lies may bring temporary benefit, but they destroy trust and bring the displeasure of Allah.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise."
Make truthfulness a habit in your speech, your actions, and your dealings with people.
The fifth lesson is prayer. Never neglect your salah. Prayer is your connection with Allah. It is the first deed that will be questioned on the Day of Judgment.
No matter how busy you become in life, never allow worldly matters to make you forget your prayers. Success does not come from wealth or status alone. True success comes from obedience to Allah.
My son,
There may come a time when people invite you towards things that displease Allah. Some may make fun of religion. Others may encourage sinful behavior. At such moments, remember that pleasing Allah is more important than pleasing people.
The Qur’an teaches us courage. It teaches us to stand firm upon the truth even when others oppose us. Do not follow the crowd blindly. Follow what is right.
The sixth lesson is good character. The Qur’an is not merely meant to be recited; it is meant to be practiced. A person who recites beautifully but behaves badly has not truly understood its message.
Be kind to people.
Be gentle with children.
Respect elders.
Help the needy.
Forgive those who wrong you.
Show mercy to others.
These qualities bring a person closer to Allah.
The seventh lesson is patience. Life will not always be easy. There will be moments of sadness, failure, illness, and loss. During such times, do not lose hope.
Allah says:
"Indeed, Allah is with the patient." (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:153)
Patience does not mean giving up. It means remaining steadfast while trusting Allah's wisdom. Sometimes Allah delays something because He has something better planned for you.
My son,
The stories of the Prophets in the Qur’an contain powerful lessons.
Learn from Prophet Adam عليه السلام the importance of repentance.
Learn from Prophet Nuh عليه السلام perseverance.
Learn from Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام complete trust in Allah.
Learn from Prophet Yusuf عليه السلام purity and forgiveness.
Learn from Prophet Musa عليه السلام courage.
Learn from Prophet Isa عليه السلام compassion.
And learn from Prophet Muhammad ﷺ the perfection of character and mercy.
These prophets faced immense challenges, yet they remained devoted to Allah. Their stories are not simply history; they are lessons for our lives today.
The eighth lesson is gratitude. Every blessing you possess comes from Allah.
Your eyesight.
Your hearing.
Your health.
Your family.
Your food.
Your shelter.
Your opportunities.
Do not take these blessings for granted. Thank Allah every day. A grateful servant receives even more blessings.
Allah says:
"If you are grateful, I will surely increase you." (Surah Ibrahim 14:7)
The ninth lesson is seeking knowledge. Islam encourages learning. The first revelation began with the command:
"Read in the name of your Lord who created."
Study the Qur’an carefully. Learn its meanings. Memorize what you can. Ask questions. Sit with scholars. Read beneficial books. Never stop learning.
Knowledge protects a person from ignorance and misguidance.
My son,
In today's world, there are many distractions. Phones, social media, entertainment, and endless worldly attractions can easily consume a person's time.
Use technology wisely.
Do not allow it to control your life.
Spend time with the Qur’an every day.
Even a few verses daily can transform your heart.
Make the Qur’an your companion. Carry it with you wherever you go. Let its teachings guide your decisions.
The tenth lesson is humility. Never become arrogant because of wealth, knowledge, beauty, or success.
Everything you possess is a gift from Allah.
The Qur’an teaches us that arrogance destroyed Iblis. Humility, however, raises a person's rank before Allah.
Treat people with respect regardless of their social status. Never look down upon anyone.
My son,
One day I will leave this world, just as every parent eventually does. There will come a day when my voice can no longer advise you, and my hands can no longer support you.
When that day comes, hold firmly to the Qur’an.
Let it become your teacher.
Let it become your comfort.
Let it become your guide.
Whenever you read its verses, remember that your father wished for you to be among its people.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
"The best among you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it."
Strive to be among these people. Learn the Qur’an sincerely and share its teachings with others through your words and actions.
My dear son,
Do not measure success only by worldly achievements. True success is to meet Allah while He is pleased with you.
Many people earn wealth but lose their faith.
Many people gain fame but lose their character.
Many people achieve status but forget Allah.
Do not be among them.
Let your heart remain attached to your Creator.
Remember Allah in times of ease so that He helps you in times of difficulty.
Keep good company. Surround yourself with righteous friends who remind you of Allah. Avoid companions who lead you away from prayer and obedience.
Choose honesty over deception.
Choose patience over anger.
Choose forgiveness over revenge.
Choose faith over temptation.
Choose the Qur’an over heedlessness.
Whenever you make a mistake, repent immediately. Allah's mercy is greater than your sins. Never despair of His forgiveness.
My son,
The Qur’an is a light in this world and a light in the Hereafter. It will accompany you in your grave. It will intercede for those who recited it, understood it, and acted upon it.
Therefore, make a promise today:
To read the Qur’an regularly.
To understand its meanings.
To live according to its teachings.
To teach it to others.
To remain connected to it throughout your life.
If you do this, you will possess a treasure greater than all the riches of this world.
I pray that Allah fills your heart with the love of the Qur’an.
I pray that He grants you understanding of His Book.
I pray that He makes you among the righteous.
I pray that He protects you from every evil.
I pray that He grants you beneficial knowledge, sincere faith, and noble character.
And I pray that on the Day of Judgment, the Qur’an becomes a witness in your favor and a source of eternal success.
May Allah make you among the people of the Qur’an, those who recite it, understand it, act upon it, and teach it to others. Ameen.

Quran Lessons for My Son
Ek Baap Ki Naseehat Aur Zindagi Bhar Ka Amanat
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Mere pyare bete,
Duniya mein walidain apni aulaad ke liye bohat si cheezen chhor kar ja sakte hain, lekin imaan, achhe akhlaaq aur Qur’an-e-Kareem se muhabbat se badh kar koi tohfa nahi. Maal daulat khatam ho sakti hai, husn dhal sakta hai, duniya ki kamyabiyan bhula di jati hain, magar Qur’an ka noor hamesha baqi rehta hai aur insaan ke saath duniya aur aakhirat dono mein rehta hai.
Mere bete, main tumhare liye bohat si achhi cheezon ki dua karta hoon. Main chahta hoon ke tum sehatmand raho, khush raho, kamyab raho aur har museebat se mehfooz raho. Lekin in sab se barh kar meri dua yeh hai ke Allah tumhein Qur’an walon mein shamil farma de, kyun ke Qur’an wale Allah ke khaas bande hote hain.
Qur’an sirf ek kitab nahi jo shelf par rakhi jaye. Yeh Allah ka kalaam hai jo insaniyat ki hidayat ke liye nazil kiya gaya. Yeh humein sikhata hai ke Allah ki ibadat kaise karni hai, walidain ke saath kaisa sulook karna hai, logon ke saath kaise rehna hai, mushkilaat ka muqabla kaise karna hai aur Allah ko raazi karne wali zindagi kaise guzarna hai.
Mere bete, jab bhi Qur’an kholo to yeh yaad rakho ke tum Allah ka paigham padh rahe ho. Isay adab, ikhlaas aur tawajjuh ke saath padhna. Iski tilawat mein jaldi na karna balki iski ayaat par ghour karna aur sochna ke Allah tumhein kya sikhana chahta hai.
Allah Ta’ala farmata hai:
"Zaalikal Kitaabu la raiba feeh, hudal lil muttaqeen."
Yani yeh woh kitab hai jisme koi shak nahi aur yeh parhezgaaron ke liye hidayat hai.
Mere pyare bete,
Qur’an ka pehla sabaq yeh hai ke Allah hamesha tumhare saath hai. Log tumhein chhor sakte hain, dost badal sakte hain aur halaat tabdeel ho sakte hain, lekin Allah kabhi apne bande ko tanha nahi chhorta.
Jab bhi tum udaas ho, pareshan ho ya apne aap ko akela mehsoos karo to Allah ki taraf rujoo karo. Dua mein apne haath uthao aur Allah se baat karo. Apni umeedein, apne darr, apni pareshaniyan aur apni khwahishaat uske saamne rakh do. Woh har baat sunta hai aur dilon ke raaz tak jaanta hai.
Doosra sabaq ikhlaas ka hai. Har kaam Allah ki raza ke liye karo. Namaz Allah ke liye padhho. Ilm Allah ke liye hasil karo. Logon ki madad Allah ke liye karo. Jab niyyat saaf hoti hai to chhota amal bhi Allah ke nazdeek bohat qeemti ho jata hai.
Teesra sabaq walidain ke saath husn-e-sulook ka hai. Allah Ta’ala ne Qur’an mein baar baar walidain ke saath nek sulook ka hukm diya hai.
Allah Ta’ala farmata hai:
"Wa bil waalidaini ihsana."
Yani walidain ke saath ihsaan aur nek sulook karo.
Mere bete, hamesha unse narmi se baat karna. Kabhi un par awaaz buland mat karna aur hamesha adab aur mohabbat ka muamla karna.
Chautha sabaq sachchai ka hai. Hamesha sach bolo chahe sach bolna mushkil hi kyun na ho. Ek momin ki pehchan uski sachchai hoti hai. Jhoot chand lamhon ka faida de sakta hai lekin aakhir mein nuqsan aur ruswai ka sabab banta hai.
Rasulullah ﷺ ne farmaya:
"Sachchai neki ki taraf rehnumai karti hai aur neki Jannat ki taraf le jati hai."
Is liye apni zubaan, apne amal aur apne muamlaat mein sachchai ikhtiyar karo.
Haqeeqi kamyabi Allah ki ita’at mein hai.
Mere bete,
Zindagi mein aise log bhi milenge jo tumhein gunaah ki taraf bulaenge. Kuch log deen ka mazaaq uraenge aur kuch tumhein Allah ki nafarmani ki taraf dawat denge. Aise waqt mein yaad rakhna ke Allah ko raazi karna logon ko raazi karne se zyada ahmiyat rakhta hai.
Qur’an humein himmat aur isteqamat sikhata hai. Yeh humein batata hai ke sach aur haq par mazboot rehna chahiye chahe poori duniya mukhalif hi kyun na ho.
Chhatha sabaq achhe akhlaaq ka hai. Qur’an sirf padhne ke liye nahi balki us par amal karne ke liye nazil hua hai. Agar koi khoobsurat tilawat kare lekin uska akhlaaq bura ho to usne Qur’an ka asal paigham nahi samjha.
Logon ke saath narmi se pesh aao.
Bachon par shafqat karo.
Buzurgon ka ehtram karo.
Ghareebon ki madad karo.
Logon ko maaf karna seekho.
Aur har haal mein reham aur mohabbat ka muamla karo.
Saatwan sabaq sabr ka hai. Zindagi hamesha aasaan nahi hoti. Kabhi gham aayega, kabhi nakaami, kabhi bimaari aur kabhi koi aur aazmaish.
Aise waqt mein Allah se umeed mat khona.
Allah Ta’ala farmata hai:
"Inna Allaha ma’as saabireen."
Yani Allah sabr karne walon ke saath hai.
Sabr ka matlab haar maan lena nahi. Sabr ka matlab mushkil halaat mein bhi Allah par bharosa rakhna hai.
Mere bete,
Qur’an mein Ambiya-e-Kiraam ke qisse bohat bade sabaq rakhte hain.
Hazrat Adam علیہ السلام se tauba seekho.
Hazrat Nuh علیہ السلام se isteqamat seekho.
Hazrat Ibrahim علیہ السلام se Allah par tawakkul seekho.
Hazrat Yusuf علیہ السلام se haya aur maafi seekho.
Hazrat Musa علیہ السلام se himmat seekho.
Hazrat Isa علیہ السلام se rehmat aur narmi seekho.
Aur Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ se behtareen akhlaaq aur kamil zindagi ka sabaq hasil karo.
Aathwan sabaq shukr ka hai. Tumhare paas jo kuch bhi hai Allah ki ne’mat hai.
Tumhari aankhein.
Tumhare kaan.
Tumhari sehat.
Tumhara ghar.
Tumhara khaana.
Tumhara khandan.
Tumhari taleem.
In sab par Allah ka shukr ada karte rehna.
Allah Ta’ala farmata hai:
"La’in shakartum la azeedannakum."
Yani agar tum shukr ada karoge to main tumhein aur zyada dunga.
Nawan sabaq ilm hasil karna hai. Islam ilm ki taleem deta hai. Qur’an ki pehli wahi hi "Iqra" yani "Padhho" ke hukm se shuru hui.
Qur’an ko samajhne ki koshish karo. Iski tafseer padhho. Isay yaad karo. Ulama se seekho. Aur zindagi bhar ilm hasil karte raho.
Mere bete,
Aaj ke daur mein bohat si cheezen insaan ko Allah ki yaad se ghafil kar deti hain. Mobile phones, social media aur be-shumar mashghale insaan ka waqt zaya kar dete hain.
Technology ka istemal zarurat aur hikmat ke saath karo.
Lekin Qur’an ke liye rozana waqt zaroor nikalo.
Agar roz chand ayaat bhi padhoge to tumhara dil roshan hota rahega.
Daswan sabaq tawazu ka hai. Kabhi apni daulat, ilm, husn ya kamyabi par ghuroor mat karna.
Jo kuch tumhare paas hai Allah ka diya hua hai.
Takabbur Iblees ki barbaadi ka sabab bana aur tawazu Allah ke qurb ka zariya hai.
Logon ko unke maqam, maal ya zaahiri haisiyat ki wajah se kamtar na samajhna.
Mere pyare bete,
Ek din aisa aayega jab main is duniya mein nahi rahunga. Har insaan ko ek din apne Rab ke paas lautna hai.
Jab meri awaaz tum tak na pohanch sake, tab Qur’an ko apna rehnuma bana lena.
Jab tum pareshan ho to Qur’an ki taraf rujoo karna.
Jab tum faisla na kar pao to Qur’an ki hidayat talash karna.
Jab tum kamzor mehsoos karo to Qur’an se taqat hasil karna.
Rasulullah ﷺ ne farmaya:
"Tum mein sab se behtar woh hai jo Qur’an seekhe aur sikhaye."
Koshish karna ke tum un logon mein shamil ho jao.
Mere bete,
Duniya ki kamyabi ko hi asal kamyabi mat samajhna. Asal kamyabi yeh hai ke tum Allah se is haal mein milo ke woh tumse raazi ho.
Bahut se log maal kama lete hain magar imaan kho dete hain.
Bahut se log shohrat hasil kar lete hain magar akhlaaq kho dete hain.
Bahut se log duniya jeet lete hain magar aakhirat haar jaate hain.
Tum aise logon mein se mat hona.
Allah ko yaad rakhna.
Achhe logon ki sohbat ikhtiyar karna.
Sachchai ko apnana.
Sabr ko apnana.
Maafi ko apnana.
Imaan ko mazboot rakhna.
Aur Qur’an ko apni zindagi ka rehnuma banana.
Agar tumse koi ghalti ho jaye to foran Allah se tauba kar lena. Allah ki rehmat tumhare gunaahon se kahin zyada wasi hai.
Aakhir mein meri dua hai ke Allah Ta’ala tumhare dil ko Qur’an ki muhabbat se bhar de, tumhein Qur’an ko samajhne aur us par amal karne ki taufeeq ata farmae, tumhein nek aur saleh banda banaye aur Qayamat ke din Qur’an ko tumhare haq mein gawah bana de.
Allah Ta’ala hum sab ko Qur’an walon mein shamil farmae, jo Qur’an padhte hain, samajhte hain, us par amal karte hain aur uski taleem ko aage pohanchate hain. Aameen.
