A girl came to an elder and said, Explain to these young men that when girls pass by they should lower their gaze. The elder said: Tell me, if you go out carrying meat in your hand without covering it and some dogs come towards the meat then what will you do? The girl replied I will drive them away. The elder said And if they still don’t go? The girl said I will put in all my effort. The elder said In this way you will fall into trouble, the easy solution for this is that you go out covering the meat with cloth then it will not come into the sight of these dogs.. Remember a woman’s clothing is not merely for the charm of her personality, rather it is also the protector of her honor and the guarantor of safeguarding her modesty and dignity.. The more complete a woman appears in purdah the more incomplete she looks without purdah.. Purdah grants a woman beauty and grace, it increases her honor and respect.. It protects from the filth of dirty gazes and the lust of evil intentions..
