One should not pray for patience
Look! To have patience is a matter of very great reward, but one should not even pray for patience. We are responsible for explaining the Shariah, so I will also explain this to you that there is a narration that in front of the Noble Prophet, peace be upon him, the name of a woman was mentioned that her name is Sabira. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said change her name, because the meaning of Sabira is a woman who has patience, and when will you have to be patient? When a calamity comes. As if by keeping your name Sabira you have expressed that you want calamity for yourself, so why are you praying for patience right now?
This same thing has been described in this blessed hadith like this, "La tatamannaw liqa'al aduwwa wa salullaha al-afiyah" - do not wish to confront the enemy and for a battle to take place that when will we face him in confrontation, one should not wish for this, rather in the beginning one should pray to Allah the Almighty for safety, "Wa salullaha al-afiyah", because who knows whether we will be able to stand firm with patience in the battlefield or not, who knows whether our faith can remain firm or not, that is why it was said do not wish for it. Yes, when you do confront them, when the battle does take place, then you have to be patient, now you have to stand firm in front of them.
On this I want to submit that to be patient is a thing of very great reward and upon it mercy from Allah the Almighty is bestowed, it is said, "Ulaika alaihim salawatum mir rabbihim wa rahmah" - upon them are blessings from their Lord and mercy.
And to pray for patience beforehand that O Allah grant us the ability to be patient, when the calamity has not even come yet and you are praying for patience, what does this mean? In other words, you are praying for calamity, whereas you should pray to Allah the Almighty for well-being, "Rabbana la tuhammilna ma la taqata lana bihi" - I had told you this supplication last week also, especially in the conditions that are prevailing nowadays, in this one should especially take care to recite this supplication, whose translation is somewhat like this that O Allah do not test us with such a trial that we do not have the strength to bear it - Ameen.
Sabr ki dua nahi maangni chahiye
Dekho! Main is par ye arz karna chahta hun ke sabr karna bahut bade sawab ki cheez hai aur is par Allah Ta'ala ki taraf se rehmat murattab hoti hai farmaya, ULAAIKA ALAIHIM SALAWATUM MIN RABBIHIM WA RAHMAH.
Aur pehle hi se sabr ki dua karna ke Ae Allah hamein sabr ki taufeeq de abhi museebat aayi hi nahi aur aap sabr ki dua maang rahe hain is ka kya matlab hua, doosre alfaaz mein ye ke aap museebat ki dua maang rahe hain jab ke Allah Ta'ala se aafiyat ki dua karna chahiye, RABBANA LA TUHAMMILNA MA LA TAQATA LANA BIHI, guzishta hafta bhi aap hazraat ko ye dua batlayi thi khususan aaj kal jo halaat chal rahe hain is mein to khaas taur se is dua ka ehtemam karna chahiye jis ka tarjuma kuch is tarah hai ke Ae Allah hamara aisa imtihan mat lena jis ko bardasht karne ki hum logon mein taqat na ho - Ameen
